About Me

About me

I have a degree  in Russian Studies from The School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES), University College, London where I studied Russian language, literature, politics and linguistics.

I have spoken on cross-cultural Russian topics for a wide range of organisations including Pushkin House, The Cambridge Russian-speaking Society (Camruss), Russian Summer Schools at Essex University, UEA and Cambridge, The Arts Society, Granta, East Suffolk National Trust Association. Gainsborough’s House in Sudbury, Halford W.I,  Brantham and Little Waldingfield Historical Associations, The Lavenham Society, and many other local organisations.

My first novel, Small Acts of Kindness, a tale of the first Russian Revolution was published by Unicorn Publishing under their Universe imprint in November 2022. The sequel, Fortune’s Price (working title), set in 1830 -1832, is work in progress.

I have undertaken some translation work (from Russian into English) and would be happy to take on some more.

Some years ago now I was an investment analyst in the City.  My last position was Director of European Research for Boston based Putnam Investments, and prior to that I worked for Merrill Lynch (now Bank of America)  and James Capel (now HSBC).

For several years I wrote and edited On the House, the newsletter for Gainsborough’s House Museum in Sudbury.

I live  just outside Sudbury with my husband, Nick.  I have two sons.
